As a Spanish teacher for foreigners, I have noticed that some customs are particularly striking: <\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Mate:<\/strong> Sharing mate is almost a social ritual. It is common to pass it around during informal conversations. Foreigners are often amazed at how important this drink is in daily life.  <\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"683\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/corinaele.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/pexels-marianela-cavalli-238542638-13011098-683x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-261523\"\/><\/figure>\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Flexible punctuality<\/strong>: In social gatherings, punctuality is not strict. Arriving 10 or 15 minutes late is considered normal. <\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Greetings with a kiss<\/strong>: Even among acquaintances, Argentines usually greet each other with a kiss on the cheek, which can be curious for people from more formal cultures.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Asado as a social event<\/strong>: An asado (barbecue) is not just a meal but a gathering of family and friends, where conversation and togetherness are as important as the meat.<\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"768\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/corinaele.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/pexels-diego-moreno-3258495-9292084-768x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-261526\"\/><\/figure>\n\n<p><strong>The use of \u201cvos\u201d<\/strong>: The \u201cvos\u201d instead of \u201ct\u00fa\u201d is typical in Rioplatense Spanish and may confuse Spanish learners who are not used to it.<\/p>\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n<p>Knowing these customs helps foreigners better understand Argentine culture and integrate more easily into everyday life.
